Decorating the House for Fall
We want the home to feel welcoming year round. Warm, cozy and festive in the winter, soft and airy in the summer, energetic in the springtime and an inviting retreat in the Fall. So… our decor changes seasonally. When we change our decor seasonally our home hopefully won’t get stuck in a rut – this way I am continually updating it – at least on a surface level.
Our Fall Decor 2012 – changing as soon as we arrive back from our Thanksgiving vacation to Christmas/Winter Decor
Kitchen:
The “Give us this day our daily bread” is out year round – the gourds and bare wreath were added for the Fall
A tray of pumpkin cookies on display and to eat of course
Entryway:
A Fall Leaf Candle and Bronze Candle Holder
Give Thanks Chalkboard
A metal bin filled with gourds pinecones and moss
A wreath on the inside of the front door

Sunroom:
Eliana’s Painted Pumpkin and other pumpkins adorn the room
It is fun to use candle sticks to hold things other than candles
Acorns adorn the bottom of the candle on the mantel

A bare branch candelabra – no candles added – I like the bareness as it resembles the bare branches outside
I like to pull out current and past Fall magazines to read at leisure
Dining Room:
A bowl of candy corn on the buffet
Fall Leaves, Candelabra and Golden Pumpkin on a side table
A basket filled with corn, pumpkins, a fall scented candle and leaves as a centerpiece on the table
Family/Living Room:
A mosaic pumpkin – one of my favorites
Accents of orange with a branch of apples – just picked and ready to eat 🙂
We keep a seasonal puzzle out for people to work on
Entryway Bath:
The hand towels get changed seasonally – usually more than a few times a season
This happy fella sits in the corner under the sink
This sits in the corner of the bath with a Fall scented candle in the center.
